The Hermitage appellation is located on the right bank of the Rhône, on a steep hillside which extends over three communes: Tain-l’Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Larnage.

Viticulture on the Hermitage has been documented since Antiquity and recognized worldwide.
The Hermitage terroir is made up of granite and schistose rocks, which give the wines their typicality. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters.

The appellation is known for its exceptional red and white wines, produced mainly from grape varietiessyrah and roussanne.

The red wines are powerful, tannic and complex, with aromas of red fruits, violet and garrigue. White wines are bold, aromatic and complex, with aromas of dried fruits, honey and spices.
Both whites and reds can age for many years.

Hermitage red wines pair well with grilled red meats, game and hard cheeses. Hermitage white wines go well with fatty fish, shellfish and blue-veined cheeses.
